The coconut tree is the ultimate earth mother; she feeds us plentifully with  meat and supplies a very healthy drink, shades us from the sun  and rain, provides fuel for fire, and reproduces abundantly. She bends in adverse weather conditions, rarely sucumbing. She is indeed a great role model.

This lovely tree thrives outside my studio in warm, golden Haiku, Maui.
